Science Enrichment Group
The Chifley Science Enrichment Group are back in the lab for 2025! They began the year with a recap of safety in the lab and then dived straight into two experiments. The first experiment saw the students following a procedure to boil water using a Bunsen burner.
Students then had fun making "Elephant Toothpaste" by mixing bicarb soda, vinegar (with food colouring added) & dishwashing liquid. Check out the photos to see the amazing results! Students will be repeating this experiment later in the year, modifying the amounts of each substance to create a bigger "explosion".

In the Garden with Mr Dabron
Outdoor learning is time tabled into our curriculum where children learn to care for plants, animals and other living things.

PE and In School Sport
Friday PE is always fun!

Congratulations to all students who recently trialled for the Zone Rugby League team.
David I, Sam T, Karjarry W and Tyrell S have all successfully progressed to the next trial.
We wish all of our students good luck at the next trial.
It is a tradition at Chifley Public School to host an Easter Raffle and Hat Parade on Thursday 10 April to raise funds for the school. This year money raised from Easter activities will go towards classroom resources for the school.
Activities on our Easter Celebration Day will include an Easter Egg Hunt. The parade will be in the morning, commencing at 9.15 am on the netball court (weather permitting).
During the Easter Hat Parade all the winners of the Easter Raffle will be drawn. We would like your support to make this a great success.
We are asking for your help:
• To donate eggs, chocolate bunnies or bilbies. These eggs will be used for the raffle and for the egg hunt.
• To buy tickets in the raffle to be in the running for one of the many prizes.
In the past, the families of Chifley Public School have been very generous; we have had many prizes and many happy winners. We are anticipating that the raffle will have five or more prizes per class and three community prizes, depending on donations.
• All students who donate chocolate eggs etc will be awarded House Points.
• The raffle will be drawn at the Easter Hat Parade on Thursday, 10 April and the egg hunt will take place on the same day.
• Tickets will be $1 each or 3 for $2. These will be available for sale each morning before school, outside the staffroom.
Notes with a set of 6 raffle tickets will be sent home later this week.
It is really important that your child's name and class are put on any tickets being bought for them, and any adult tickets for the community raffle have a name and telephone number.
• More tickets will be available on request.
• Easter Hats for the parade are to be constructed at home and should be brought to school on the day of the parade.
Thank you, in anticipation, for your generous support.
